Cookie Settings
Last updated: 10 September 2026
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We keep our use of them deliberately small, and nothing optional runs until you agree to it.
Change your choice
Your current setting is shown below. You can change it whenever you like, and the change takes effect immediately.
What we set
Essential
Always on. These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
octolade_consent | Remembers your cookie choice, so you are not asked on every page | 12 months |
Analytics
Off until you accept. These tell us which pages are useful and where people get stuck, so we can improve the site. They are not used for advertising.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors and sessions to produce aggregate usage reports | Up to 24 months |
_clck, _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Links pageviews into a session for heatmaps and session replay | Up to 12 months |
How the blocking works
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Analytics storage is set to denied before any analytics script loads, so no analytics cookies are written and no data is sent while you have not consented. Accepting flips that to granted; rejecting leaves it denied.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this or any other site from working properly. See aboutcookies.org for browser-by-browser instructions.
